Dineshwar Sharma to visit Kashmir next week

Special representative of the central government for Kashmir talks Dineshwar Sharma is likely to visit Kashmir valley next week and it would be his third visit since his appointment to look for ways and means to end Kashmir conflict. He visited Kashmir on November 6 this year after his appointment and met lot of delegations and civil society groups. He again visited J&K on November 24 and visited South Kashmir the epicentre of present violence and met dozens of youth delegations. It was on his recommendations to the home ministry that the government has started the process of giving amnesty to the first time stone pelters across Kashmir valley. Dineshwar Sharma has also recommend sustained talks with seperatists and also with Pakistan to end Kashmir conflict and bring permanent peace in the region. Although Sharma has tried to meet Huriyat confrence leaders, so far they have described his appointment as an exercise in futility. Even the opposition national conference has said that there was no need for any more interlocutors for Kashmir and instead urged Modi government to implement recommendations and reports of earlier groups and interlocutors to show seriousness to end the Kashmir violence.
Dineshwar Sharma while talking to a local news agency has said on Thursday that he will be visiting Kashmir valley next week without giving details about whom he is going to meet during his stay here.
