Soil Health Card Day observed at Budgam

BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 19:  Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today distributed soil health cards among the farmers of the district on the occasion of Soil Health Card day.

This soil health card scheme was launched in February 2015 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director urged the field functionaries to aware the farmers about the benefits of increasing soil fertility and productivity of the land holdings by getting their soil tested in order to know its nutritional status.

Nodal officer Soil Health Card Scheme, Irshad Ahmad Kamili, on the occasion saidthat during last five years 16.18 lac Soil Health Cards have been distributed across Jammu and Kashmir and the process continues.

Patently, the Soil Health Card day is being observed throughout the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the participating farmers beinggiven live demonstration of drawing soil sample from the soil besides informing them the utility of such soil tests.
