PHQ re-opens after Darbar Move

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 05 : Police Headquarters started functioning here today after the darbar move. After paying homage to the martyrs at Martyrs Memorial, Rail Head the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh reached PHQ in the morning where he was given as ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival. Afterwards, the DGP chaired a high level meeting in the Conference Hall of PHQ.

           The meeting was attended by Dr. B. Srinivas, ADGP (CID), Shri A.K. Choudhary, ADGP Armed J&K, S. J. M. Gillani, Director Vigilance, Shri A.G. Mir, ADGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, Shri Mohd. Sulaiman Salaria, Director SKPA Udhampur, Shri Munir Ahmed Khan, ADGP Security / Law & Order, Dr. S.D. Singh, IGP Jammu Zone, Shri Danesh Rana, IGP Armed Jammu, Shri Shafqat Ali Watali, IGP Armed Kashmir / Railways, Shri J.P. Singh IGP (Pers.) PHQ, Shri Alok Kumar, IGP Security, Shri Surinder Kumar Gupta,  Director SSG, S. Ahfadul  Mujtaba, IGP Crime, Shri Anand Jain, IGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, Shri Sikander Mohan Kapoor, Director Prosecution PHQ, Shri Naseer Ahmed, Director Police Telecommunication, All AIsG of PHQ, SSP Jammu, Commandants of Jammu based Armed/IR battalions, Staff Officers and other GOs.

           Addressing the officers, the Director General of Police complemented all the officers for smooth and hassle free shifting of the Darbar. The DGP impressed upon the officers to continue their good work and also hailed their contribution as first responders in the recent snowfall in Kashmir valley. He said that police personnel have to help the people sometimes at the cost of their own comforts. He said that police have stood up many challenges. Advising the officers to work on the positions where ever they are with more dedication, the DGP said that all wings are important and all jobs designated for the respective posts are important.

 The DGP impressed upon the officers to strengthen the Jawans, as strong and capable constables make the force strong. He directed the officers to do the given tasks within the stipulated time and speed up the disposals. He also directed them to conduct formal inspections of the Police Stations and administrative inspections of the offices. Shri Singh also directed them to flag the issues and solve them in shortest possible time. He said that all help will be provided to meet out any requirement of the subordinates and informed that resources available have distributed to meet requirements.

           He also exhorted upon the officers to give attention to disposal of crime cases, curbing the bovine & narcotics smuggling and neutralising the terrorism. He said that PHQ is keen to provide housing infrastructure, equipments and training to the police personnel. He also said that PHQ is working on modernization and up-gradation of Police Control Room Jammu and other units. He said that efforts will be made to strengthen the city grid, highway grid and border grid.

           Earlier, te Director General of Police visited Martyrs Memorial at Rail Head complex where he paid homage to the martyrs. The DGP was accompanied by senior officers of PHQ and Head of different wings.

           Later on, the DGP inspected different sections of the PHQ and interacted with staff of these sections. He passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for upkeep of files and other records in different sections.
