Danishwar Sharma reportedly shocked by tales of torture

Official representative of government of India Danishwar Sharma, during his second visit to J&K sate met many student delegations and was reportedly shocked when some students narrated to him police atrocities to their families. He was also shocked to see some torture victims who met him during his Anatnag sojourn. He focused on the students and interacted with them by going to South Kashmir and staying there. At Anatnag town he met many stone pelters, student delegations and most of such interactions ended on the note of warmth and understanding their problems.
“We told him that we will suffer again if the centre will not resolve the dispute. We also showed him some students with torture marks as he met us in absence of any police or civilian official” said a girl student to VOV on Wednesday morning. She said that Danishwar Sharma gave them a patient hearing and promised to submit to ten central government an honest ground report about Kashmir situation.
It is in place to mention that during the stay of Danishwar Sharma at Pulwama and Anatnag districts in South Kashmir neither media was allowed inside nor any state or police official. Most of the interactions especially with the students remained in camera.
The students who met Sharma said that he was very positive and very concerned that education was suffering because of violence in Kashmir. Danishwar Sharma has told students not to resort to violence and not to fall prey to the propaganda if radicalisation. One student told VOV that he told them that gun was only for destruction and will bring no positive change in their lives. Already on his earlier recommendations government has announced amnesty to 4500 first time stone pelters in Kashmir as a first step to make conducive atmosphere for talks in Kashmir
