The contradictory line adopted by the White House on the Iran nuclear deal continues to stir debate worldwide. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley is one of the American officials somehow backtracking on Washington’s new position against the agreement. Press TV has discussed the issue with the Republican member of the Virginia State Senate Richard Black.

He attributed the US administration’s dubious position on Iran’s nuclear accord to the fact that it has been “left isolated in the world.”

Black stated that even “Nikki Haley, who is a very hawkish US ambassador to the United Nations, came out and said that Tehran is complying with the nuclear accord,” because American authorities are under pressure when all other parties to the deal have expressed serious concerns about the US abandoning the agreement.

In a clumsy attempt at explaining Donald Trump’s refusal to certify the deal, Haley told ABC News in an interview, “We are not saying they [Iranians] are in breach of the agreement. No they are doing exactly what they claim to do.”

Russia, Britain, Germany, France and the European Union have all reiterated their commitment to the landmark 2015 agreement, urging Trump to follow suit.(Agencies)
