Turkish President for multi-lateral dialogue on Kashmir, ready to mediate

Srinagar:  Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has surprised New Delhi during his visit when he talked at length about Kashmir dispute and asked both India and Pakistan settled this issue by multi-lateral dialogue and offered mediation of Turkey to settle this dispute.

He said that it has a human issue and offered the involvement of his country to seek ways to settle the issue of Kashmir once and for all. His comments on Kashmir and offer of mediation became the point of discussion on different television channels and most of them described the utterances as controversial.

He said India and Pakistan are both friends of Turkey and he wants to help strengthen the dialogue process. India firmly rules out third party mediation on Kashmir.

This is Turkish President Erdogan’s first foreign visit after winning referendum on April 16 that further consolidated his executive powers in his country.
