Ganderbal: Violent clashes erupted after police foiled Protest march of students at Government Degree College Ganderbal. Students of Degree College boycotted classes and tried to march towards main chowk. Clashes erupted between police personnel and students when police interrupted the agitated students and prevented them to move forward. Police used tear smoke shells to disperse the students who were pelting stones. Meanwhile, 15 police personnel and almost a dozen students were injured during the clashes. This is pertinent to mention here that due to non availability of ambulances, injured police men faced difficulty to reach hospital for medical aid. DY.SP Headquarters said that, District Hospital Ganderbal authorities failed to provide ambulance on the spot for the reasons best known to them. Police fired gun shots in air when the clashes intensified and chased protesting students. Two protesters were arrested on spot and taken into police custody.
