After the recent violence in Leh town, UT of Ladakh is slowly getting back its peace with the help of administration. Slew of measures in Ladakh are responsible to normalize the situation.

Recently six leaders, including a Congress Councillor and a woman activist, were released on bail after three weeks of detention in connection with last month’s violence in Leh, which left four people dead and many injured.

The District Magistrate here has also withdrawn all restrictions imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) that had been in place since September 24.

The Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) have demanded the release of all detainees, including environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, along with a judicial probe and compensation for the victims’ families.

They are jointly trying to focus on their demands in the peaceful manner in which they have given a peaceful protest calendar like blackout etc to get attention of Union Home Ministry of their demands.

Peace has been restored to some extent in Leh and there is no longer any apprehension of disturbance, prompting the withdrawal of restrictions here.
