Transformative Opportunities

Central government recently awarded Scheduled Tribe status to Paharis, the community now stands on the threshold of transformative opportunities in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

What remains critical is the fair and full implementation of these rights so that empowerment translates from promise to practice.

For decades, Paharis sought recognition of their identity and rights in UT of J&K, their inclusion strengthens the vision of sustainable and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.

But recognition alone is not enough, systematic interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihoods are essential for genuine upliftment of the Pahari community.

The empowerment of the Pahari community is not merely a matter of rights, it is an investment in a more inclusive and resilient Jammu and Kashmir.

When the J & K administration will intervene on the ground to make their lives better it would be a game changer especially in the rural areas of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
