Tarigami Expects Secular Parties to Dominate JK Elections
SRINAGAR: After the exit polls projected a close contest in Jammu and Kashmir, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate from Kulgam Assembly constituency, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami claimed that the public seek the formation of a non-BJP and secular government in the Union Territory.
“The public of Jammu and Kashmir wants a non-BJP government to be formed in the Union Territory. They want to elect a government that will raise their voices. The public has given their mandate and the results will be announced on October 8 on expected lines,” the CPM leader said.
“Exit polls have their assessments and projections but we are waiting for the results. According to me, the mood of the people is to elect a secular government that fulfils the promises. It is also my opinion that non-BJP secular parties need to have the upper hand and win,” said Tarigami.
