Chief Election Commissioner Promises Fair Jammu Kashmir Elections
SRINAGAR: A high-level meeting involving General Observers, Police Observers, and Expenditure Observers for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana Assembly elections was convened in New Delhi.
The session, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar alongside Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, provided strategic briefings to officials on their vital responsibilities in the respective constituencies.
More than 400 senior officers from the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and Indian Revenue Service, among other central services, were in attendance.
The meeting detailed the deployment of around 200 General Observers, 100 Police Observers, and 100 Expenditure Observers across both regions.
In his address, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar underscored the importance of professionalism and accessibility for Observers, urging them to remain open to all stakeholders, including candidates and the general public.
He assured that the elections in both states will be conducted in a fair and impartial manner, highlighting the enthusiasm among the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming polls.(KINS)
