Recently Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir convened a DLIC meeting, to review the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) in the district.
He took stock of the progress made under HADP since its launch, meticulously examining advancements in key areas like seed distribution, irrigation infrastructure development, micro-irrigation projects, farm mechanization, farmer training programs, and market linkages.
He said that effective collaboration is vital for ensuring proper planning, execution, and monitoring of HADP activities. He underscored the need for increased focus on capacity building initiatives, empowering farmers with knowledge and skills to embrace innovative practices and adapt to changing agricultural landscapes.
While scrutinizing the progress of projects under HADP, the DC directed Heads of Departments to provide valid reasons for any project rejection on the portal. He emphasized that all criteria must be strictly adhered to, following the established guidelines before approving any project.
He set clear timelines for achieving specific targets under HADP and demanded regular progress reports from concerned departments.
He emphasized the importance of close coordination between various departments involved in HADP, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and farmer representatives.
