Block Diwas: DC Ganderbal addresses public concerns at Shallabugh

GANDERBAL, FEBRUARY 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at Panchayat Ghar Shallabugh, where he interacted with the public to listen to their issues and demands.

The programme, which was also attended by Vice Chairperson DCC Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad, SSP Ganderbal, Sandeep Gupta, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani and other senior officers, aimed to provide a platform to the people to voice their concerns and aspirations directly to the authorities and seek redressal of their grievances.

The major issues projected during the event include development of roads, street lights, dredging of irrigation canals, ATM facility, installation of transformer at PHC Kachan, development of playground at Girls High School Shallabugh and other issues of public importance.

After giving patient hearing to locals, the DC assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken up with the relevant quarters for prompt redressal.

While replying to the demands, the DC assured the locals that all genuine demands would be taken up with relevant authorities for swift redressal. He emphasized that issues raised during the weekly Block Diwas and Back to Village programs would be given priority in formulating the plan for the fiscal year 2024-25. Additionally, the DC announced the approval of the JJM Plan to address water supply issues in the district.

Addressing concerns about door-to-door waste collection, DC informed that waste collection had been outsourced by the district administration and urged residents to pay usage charges on a monthly basis for the services rendered.

The Vice-Chairperson DDC expressed appreciation for the proactive efforts of the district administration in Shallabugh Panchayat. He also acknowledged the dedicated endeavors of the administration and extended assurance of full cooperation to transform Shallabugh into a developed and thriving Panchayat.

Among the officers present on the occasion were Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Bashir Ahmad, District Lead Bank and other district officers and officials.
