KVK Bandipora launches Awareness/ Popularization program on ‘Protected Cultivation of Vegetable Crops’
BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 16: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bandipora while taking significant stride towards modernizing agriculture Saturday launched an extensive awareness and popularization program on the ‘Protected Cultivation of Vegetable Crops.’
Farmers, agricultural enthusiasts, and stakeholders from different parts of District Bandipora participated actively in this program.
The program aimed to educate and empower farmers with innovative techniques to enhance productivity and sustainability in vegetable cultivation. The programme was conducted under HADP project “Innovative Extension Approaches for Promoting Agriculture in Jammu and Kashmir”.
With the objective of fostering advancements in agriculture and promoting modern farming practices, KVK Bandipora recognizes the significance of protected cultivation.
Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora, Farooq Ahmad while speaking on the occasion said that initiative is geared towards equipping local farmers with advanced techniques that enhance crop yields, improve quality, and ensure sustainability.
Dr. Feroz Ahmad Parray, Assistant Professor FOA Wadura provided insights into greenhouse and polyhouse technologies to optimize environmental factors for better crop yields.
Course Coordinator Dr. Tahir Saleem, Scientist KVK Bandipora expressed optimism about the positive impact of the program on the local farming community. “Protected cultivation is a game-changer in modern agriculture, and our aim is to empower farmers with the knowledge and tools needed for successful implementation. We believe that this program will significantly contribute to the overall development of agriculture in the region.”
