Forest land demarcation

In order to preserve green gold, the J & K administration has already started the process to demarcate forest land and also to plant new saplings.

Recently the Chief Secretary led Steering Committee approved additional APO for forest land demarcation & planting of 1.75 Cr saplings.

He directed for developing panchayat level carbon-neutral plans till year end.

In its 23rd Steering Committee meeting of J&K Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) headed by Chief Secretary, gave its in principle nod to the additional Annual Plan of Operation (APO) for meeting the target of sowing 1.75 Cr saplings besides carrying out demarcation of the boundaries of all the vulnerable forest areas.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Forests; Principal Secretary, Finance; PCCF, HoFF; Chief Wildlife Warden; PCCF (CEO), CAMPA; DG, Planning; Addl CCFs besides other concerned officers of the Department.

Outstation based officers participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

He enjoined upon the officers to attain all the deliverables set for the department on time. He stressed on achieving the target of sowing 1.75 Cr saplings and distribution of 90 lakh seed balls as envisaged under the annual plan of the department.
