Snowfall in higher reaches, health resorts, may invite more tourists to Kashmir

Early snowfall in the month of October has brought chills and cold to the common people, but cheers in the tourism sector as they expect a lot of tourists to visit snow bound Sonmarg, Gulmarg and other such tourist resorts in higher regions.

All the higher regions of Kashmir valley have witnessed snowfall in the past few days and there are many eager tourists to visit and enjoy their holidays at the ski resort of Gulmarg and snowbound Sonmarg.

Though early snowfall has brought temperatures down and cold winds are sweeping across Kashmir valley, it is a thrilling season for the tourists to come and enjoy early snow in Kashmir.

Heavy rainfall in the plains and the snow in the higher regions has resulted in blocking of highways like Srinagar-Jammu, Shopain-Rajouri and Srinagar-Leh highways.

The rains also triggered landslides at multiple locations on Srinagar-Jammu resulting in its partial closure.

The health resorts of Sonmarg and Gulmarg are being thronged by tourists as they are rapid in while blanket with early snowfall in Kashmir valley.
