Snowfall in higher reaches bring chill and cold in entire Kashmir

Incessant rains lashed Kashmir valley throughout Monday and there are reports of snowfall in all the higher regions like Mughal Road, Sinthan Top, Sadna Top and Gulmarg.

Though it is the autumn month of October, early snowfall in the higher regions has brought winter chill and cold even in the plains of Kashmir.

Drop in temperatures has forced the people to go for woollen clothing and switch on their heating gadgets to cope up with the cold.

Earlier the MeT department in Kashmir had predicted wet weather conditions including snowfall in the higher Kashmir valley.

Heavy snowfall is being witnessed on Sadhna Top which separates Kupwara and Karnah valleys in North Kashmir.

Snowfall has been witnessed on Pir Ki Gali on Mughal Road as snowfall is being witnessed on both sides of Pir Panchal Region.

Rains are lashing Srinagar and other parts without any break till this report was being filed.

MeT department has said that there would be improvement in the weather conditions from Tuesday evening.
