The Government of India has a lot of focus on Clean Air and they have made the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).

In Jammu and Kashmir, the administration is finalizing an action plan for every district under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).

Recently DC Srinagar finalized an Action Plan of Rs 33.0 Cr under National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).

Implementation of Mission Life Actions, Rejuvenation of wastelands, Mass plantation, Fountain Construction, IEC activities major components under plan to improve Air Quality Index in Srinagar District.

In a recent meeting ofDistrict Level Implementation Committee on National Clean Air Programme(NCAP) was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, to finalize the Rs 33 crore Action Plan under NCAP to reduce PM10 levels by 2025 to improve Air Quality Index in Srinagar District.

During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on various aspects and components incorporated under the Rs 33.0 crore Action Plan for implementation and monitoring of the National Clean Air Programme including conducting mass plantation, construction of water fountains, holding of IEC activities and new initiatives in Agriculture sector under Mission life etc.

He took a comprehensive review of the Action plans proposed by the Sub Committees constituted for formulating city specific plans for implementation and monitoring of NCAP in Srinagar District.
