Urban population is growing at the rapid speed in Jammu and Kashmir, with the result bringing new challenges to the administration to solve the problems.
Recently the government of Jammu and Kashmir has started a Public outreach programme in urban local bodies, My Town My Pride to address the problems of the people.
Recently LG Manoj Sinha in a review meeting said that it is the responsibility of every officer to ensure integrated development concepts and its execution.

We must work on brand positioning of the cities as each city has its own unique cultural identity and heritage. We should also prepare a comprehensive plan to strengthen Urban Local Self-Governance, creating resources and to foster more inclusion and sustainability for future challenges.
