The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has been trying to remain ahead to face the winter challenges as they are diverse in nature and are to be dealt with according to the topography of the district.
In order to keep the different wings of the administration ready to face the winter challenges those divisional heads in Kashmir and Jammu have reviewed the winter preparedness.
In a recent review meeting Divisional Commissioner Jammu reviewed winter preparedness in all the districts. He asked all Deputy Commissioners to formulate a comprehensive plan to tackle diverse challenges of winter.
He took a district wise review of preparedness in the districts regarding maintenance of National Highways, Link roads, water, power supply scenario, snow clearance and overall winter arrangements.
While reviewing winter preparedness for clearance of roads, he directed PWD, NHAI, BRO, MED to ensure tenders are floated for maintenance and ensure quick clearance during snowfall in the districts. He also stressed that the roads leading to tourist destinations should be cleared on priority so that tourists don’t face any inconvenience.
The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the water, power supply position, availability of ration, fuel, LPG and other essentials in their respective districts.
