505 Covid-19 Cases, No Death Reported In J&K

Jammu and Kashmir reported 505 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day spike in more than five and a half months, even as there was no death due to the virus during the time, officials said on Thursday.

277 cases were reported from Jammu division and 228 from Kashmir division, taking the overall tally to 458456, they said.

Giving district wise details, they said, Jammu reported 200 cases, Srinagar 144, Baramulla 38, Udhampur 25, Kupwara 23, Kathua 14, Kishtwar 11, Rajouri five, Doda five, Poonch eight, Kulgam four, Reasi three, Budgam six, Pulwama two, Anantnag three, Ganderbal two and Shopian one.

Among the total cases, 168998 are from Jammu division and 289458 from Kashmir, they said.

There was no death from Jammu region due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4761 people have succumbed to the virus—2336 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 152 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—97 from Jammu division and 55 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 2077 active case— 1176 in Jammu and 901 in Kashmir.

The officials told GNS there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 16302 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
