DLSA Ganderbal Celebrated “World Day for International Justice

District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal in collaboration with Department of law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir Celebrated “World Day for International Justice” today on 19th July, 2022 at Moot Court Department of law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of kashmir, under the guidance of Mrs. Tabasum Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal
The programme was attended by Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean SLS, Prof. Mohd. Afzal Zargar, Registrar Central University of Kashmir, Faculty Members and students of Department of law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of kashmir.
In the event, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean SLS, presented a formal welcome address to the gathering Prof. Mir highlighted the different issues relating to social justice and encouraged the students to be part of free legal services.
Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir stated that the world Day of International Justice is observed on July 17 of every year to mark the importance of the International Justice system and to strengthen it.
Prof. Mohd. Afzal Zargar, Registrar Central University of Kashmir, highlighted the various issues and laid emphasis on the principle “Justice delayed is Justice denied”.
On the occasion Adv. Mr. Zulfikar Aalam, highlighted the problems with regard to international justice and discussed preventions and precautions relating women harassment at workplace, schools, hospitals colleges, and child labour, and also rights of SC/ST, etc.The theme for World Day for “International Justice 2022” is “Achieving Social Justice through Formal Employment”. World Day for International Justice observed on July 17th to commemorate the organizations that work to bring justice to the victims of international criminal acts. The day focuses on the advocacy of fundamental human rights and the promotion of international criminal Justice. He also interacted with some students of the department of law in the concluding part of the session.
The other academicians and students also spoke on the occasion.
The Programme ended with vote of thanks.
