DC Srinagar visits Batamaloo, takes first-hand appraisal of the issues of local traders

SRINAGAR, JULY 19:- Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today visited Batamaloo business hub to take first hand appraisal of the issues faced by the traders in the market.

SSP, Traffic, Muzaffar Ahmad, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Faz lul Haseeb and other officers accompanied the DC during the visit.

The DC visited several markets and localities of the area and listened to the concerns raised by the traders including problems being faced by wholesalers/distributors in supplying goods to dealers and intervention required for smooth movement of vehicles for supply of essential goods in the local markets, besides removing of encroachments on pedestrian footpaths was also raised to ensure smooth movement of pedestrians.

The Traders also demanded for designating a particular area for parking of commercial vehicles in the area to facilitate the local wholesale traders and dealers visiting the market.

On the occasion, the DC also held an interaction with the representatives of Batamaloo Traders Association and deliberated on an action plan to resolve the genuine concerns raised by them.

The Deputy Commissioner and SSP Traffic assured them that they will look into the matter based on the directions of the High Court and will come out with a solution.

President, Batamaloo Traders Association, Abrar Ahmad and other senior members of the Association were present on the occasion.
