DLSA Ganderbal held Legal awareness programme at Ganderbal

The District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority held Legal awareness programme on ‘(Legal Services to the Mentally ill and Mentally Disabled persons) NALSA Scheme, 2015, today on 28th of June 2022 at Legal Literacy Club/Village Legal Care & Support Centre Urpash. The Programme was held under the guidance of Mrs. Tabasum Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal and was attended by Principal Govt. Girls High School Urpash, Staff Members, PLVs and Students.
Mr. Adam Iqbal & Mr. Nazakat Ali, Law Students from Central University of Kashmir opened their speech highlighting the objective of NALSA and its vision and mission to make justice accessible to all. Persons with disabilities, especially those suffering from mental illness who are sidelined generally, also has right to justice, was pointed out by by speackers. NALSA’s Scheme to provide effective legal services to the mentally ill and mentally disabled persons 2015, was discussed at length. They pointed out that the prime concern of the legal services authorities is to promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms by the persons with disabilities including persons with mental disability.
