A mini-truck transporting a wedding party overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, killing five persons and injuring 36 others.

According to authorities, the driver of the speeding mini-truck, which was carrying roughly 50 people, lost control of the vehicle while making a u-turn late Friday night, causing it to overturn.

“Four persons died on the spot, while one died later in a hospital from his injuries. The groom and the driver of the vehicle, on the other hand, are unharmed “said the cops.

“Six of the injured are in critical condition. The injured are being treated at the Beohari government hospital. The accident was caused by the vehicle’s fast speed and overloading “a police official stated.

The people were going to Dol village from Dholar for the wedding ceremony.

A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act was registered against the driver.
