Smart city
Jammu is being developed as a smart city and many projects are underway to make it more attractive for the visitors. Central government has been funding both Srinagar and Jammu smart city projects which includes the metro projects for these two cities.
Recently LG Manoj Sinha inaugurated some of the projects of Jammu city and asked the different wings of his administration to work harder on the ground.
He set the timelines for the projects under Smart City and directed the concerned officers and agencies to adhere to the specified targets.
Elaborating on the Smart City Project, he said efforts are underway to make public places more friendly to people and to make the system of roads & transport better, smarter. After the completion of these projects, better facilities will be available to the people.
It is our commitment that strong infrastructure and services will be developed under Smart city, and the foundation for the overall development of Jammu city will be laid.
He underscored that the redevelopment of 23 junctions of the city including Satwari, Shakuntala, Karan Nagar, Panama Chowk junction etc. to be done at a cost of Rs 31.55 crore, would provide better street lights, footpaths, police shelters, water ATMs, bus stands and other public amenities to people.
