After the recent spells of respite in the form of showers and cloudy weather conditions, J&K is going to witness heat waves again according to the weather department.

According to their prediction, due to dry weather conditions both day and night temperatures will show an increase in Jammu and Kashmir. Already Jammu is reeling under heat wave and due to the increase in day temperatures there have been fresh reports of forest fires in Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur districts.

There has been an increase in the forest fires due to the rise in temperatures and dry weather conditions. Hundreds of such incidents have been reported from the forest areas of Jammu since March this year.

With the prediction of dry weather conditions to prevail in Kashmir valley also, there is a slight increase to be witnessed both in day and night temperatures here.

However, the showers in various picnic spots of Kashmir valley during the previous night has brought respite to the visitors and also dipped the temperatures.

However, if the dry weather conditions continue, there would be an increase in the temperatures.
