Ganderbal village yet to get piped water

Khan Mohalla of Pati Shallabugh village in Ganderbal is yet to get potable water supply prompting them to consume contaminated water from open sources.

Spread over 80 households, locals from the village while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), alleged that the government had “ignored the area completely and left it without any drinking water facility”.

They said they collect water from streams and river Jhelum, causing them health issues.

According to locals, they approached the Jal Shakti department Ganderbal several times in the past but except for assurances nothing happened.

They appealed to the LG administration and DC Ganderbal to look into the matter—(KNO)
