Ganderbal: Former MLA and National Conference leader Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Saturday has indicated that some elements within the party fold out to weaken the foundations of the party in District Ganderbal and such elements have blessings of party leadership as they bank on such elements.

He said that National Conference has been nourished by the sacrifices of many people including his father who has spent more than 14 years in jail. He said that National Conference belongs to workers and without them party cannot win any election.

He was speaking to media on the sidelines of convention held ahead of 32 anniversary of his father at Ganderbal. He said that the party leadership is not responsive over the political issues faced by the workers since last nine months.

Ishfaq said that they are living in fool’s paradise if they think they will win the elections without the support of workers in the district as the party is not fiefdom of any person.  Ishfaq said that the same elements are spreading rumours of his resignation and joining some other political party since last eight months which is far away from truth despite annoyed by the leadership. Ishfaq further said that the death anniversary of his father sheikh Jabbar which is observed on 13th April every year has been deferred due to holy month of Ramdhan and will be observed after Eid-ul-Fitr.
