Airport authorities to reduce night parking fee at Srinagar

Srinagar Airport authorities have decided to reduce the fee for the night parking of helicopters by 50 per cent in order to provide the parking facilities due to the increase in the footfall on the airport.

Already there is a huge rush of tourists to Kashmir valley especially through the airport as scores of sorties are being made by the airplanes with loads of tourists to Srinagar.

Most of the hotels and houseboats are fully booked while there is booking for any few months to hotels and other such facilities in Kashmir valley due to the tourism boom.

Director Srinagar Airport, Kuldeep Singh told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the application fees for night parking of helicopters has been reduced by 50 per cent and the people will have to pay only Rs 50,000 plus taxes along with the application for night parking permission.

“A very profitable news for helicopter operators. We have reduced the application fees for night parking of helicopters at our airport by 50%,” he said. “Now you have to pay only Rs 50,000 plus taxes along with your application for night parking permission.”

He said: “We are sure that this huge reduction will encourage the tourist charter flights in our beautiful Valley.
