Market inspection held in Anantnag, 2 bakeries sealed, fine Rs 12000 realized

ANANTNAG MARCH 23: Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Officials of Food Safety and Consumer Affairs department, Anantnag carried out a day long market inspection drive to curb the menace of Food Adulteration.

During the day long drive, two bakery structures  , M/S Rehmat Bakery and M/S Bismillah Bakery in Nathpora Khanabal were sealed as per schedule 4 of FSSA, 2006 as the bakeries were lacking basic facilities of infrastructure, hygiene and other requirements under the act.

The bakery shops were as such sealed in general interest of public health. M/S Nathu Sweets KP road was also booked for running business under unhygienic conditions. Further, a fine of Rs 12000 was recovered from two other establishments for using domestic cylinders.

The team also advised business operators to follow the provisions of the Food Safety Act in letter and spirit and were sensitized about the RUCO initiative of FSSAI. The team also collected food samples of commodities from various establishments for detailed analysis.

The officials said that more such drives will be carried out in the coming days and violators taken to task as per law
