BPJG held a salutation programme for Jahangeer Akhoon, Takes up charge as DIO Baramulla

Baramulla, March 10: Baramulla Professional Journalists Guild headed by its acting president Irshad Ahmad Bhat Reporter Gulistan News accompanied by other members of the media association today met Jahangeer Akhoon (JKAS) in his office and warmly welcomed him on assuming charge as District Information Officer Baramulla.

On the occasion, District President BPJG extended a warm welcome to DIO and expressed hope that the Officer will take the department to new heights. He also praised the incumbent for his capability and administrative acumen.

During the meet, media persons raised various issues during which District Information Officer ensured their full support and cooperation from District Administration.

On the occasion, DIO Baramulla suggested the media persons post every news on reality and ethical basis for prevailing the true spirit of journalism.

In the meantime, the delegation extended its support and cooperation to the officer from the organisation when and wherever needed.

Vice President BPJG Sheikh Dawood (DDK) and other members from the media fraternity including Nisar Yatoo (Kashmir Tone) , Pamposh Rashid ( Dainik Jagran), Yaqoob Lala (Times Now), Arawat Mehraj (Republic Media Network), Arshid Farooq (Precious Kashmir), Inayat Sofi (KNS) , Rizwan Mir (Punjab Kesari), Lone Iqbal (4TV) , Nadeem Qayoom (24×7 News, from Sopore), Ashiq Mir (Kashmir Crown), Nadeem Wani (24×7 News) , Samiullah (DDK) , Abid (The wire) , Faraz Ashraf (The News Cradle) Shabroz (TV9) ,Faisal Bhat (JKUpdate) and Arif Nabi ( Jazbaat 24) were present on the occasion.

While talking to the DIO, scribes expressed deep concern about the information and communication gap between the BPGJ and DIPR Baramulla.

The mushroom growth of Pseudo journalists in Baramulla district was also discussed in the meeting.

Pertinently long pending demand of Press Club for Baramulla too was discussed in the meet today.
