The locals from different areas of the Narbal area blocked the Srinagar-Gulmarg Road against the failure of the Power Development Department to install a high-capacity transformer.

The protesters mostly from Astan Mohalla Kawoosa area of Narbal disrupted traffic to attract the attention of the authorities.

The protesters complained that they are facing an erratic power supply for the past several months due to which the people face hardships. “The low-capacity transformer installed in our area is causing frequent power outages. We had demanded that a high-capacity transformer be installed, but our pleas had gone to deaf ears,” the protesters told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
