Scores of Anganwadi workers at the press enclave of Srinagar have demanded the implementation of court orders about the continuation of their services and also about the release of their pending salaries which have been withheld by the government from the past several years.

The protesting workers were in tears and said that they are being forced by the callous attitude of the administration to come on the streets and even to beg for their salaries which are due to them after their hard work.

Anganwadi workers in Srinagar held a protest demonstration on Monday appealing LG Manoj Sinha to intervene in their matter as the authorities are not implementing the court order given in their favor.

The protesting Anganwadi workers told the media that their salaries are not being released from the past several years and now after the court order that their salaries should be released and they should be kept on their posts the administration has disengaged them.

They have said that, LG administration in Jammu and Kashmir is forcing them to come on streets and beg for their hard earned salaries which have been withheld from the past several years.

The casual health workers who were present also said that instead of engaging fresh people against such vacancies in the health department they should be first absorbed as they have been working and have families to feed.
