The family of a Shopian laborer who died in neighboring Himachal Pradesh a few days back, have appealed LG and J&K police to take up the matter with that state so that they get the real cause of the death as they have doubts about the circumstances in which their kin has died.

He was identified as Gulzar Ahmed Khan, a resident of Shadab Karewa was working as laborer in Himachal Pradesh and died. While the initial reports said that he slipped to death, the family is questioning this claim appealing for the probe.

According to the KNT in its new report on Monday regarding the appeal to LG Manoj Sinha by the family has said in its report as follows.

“We were informed that Gulzar Ahmed slipped from the slope of a hillock while on the job. Actually, he had gone missing and his body was found after 3 days in the Himachal Forest. We request LG Manoj Sinha and Jammu and Kashmir Police to take up the issue with the Himachal Pradesh government so that the actual reason behind his death could be ascertained,” the family members of the slain laborer told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

“Gulzar was young and healthy. Before his death he had gone missing in Himachal Pradesh. We tried our best to contact him but failed,” they said.
