Government officials check markets in Kangan area

On the complaints of the general public regarding the unhygienic foods being supplied to them by the shopkeepers, the district administration has decided to go for market checking in many areas.
In this direction on the directions of District Administration Ganderbal a joint team of Food Safety & Consumer Affairs /Public Distribution Department Comprising Mr. Fayaz FSO Kgn & Mr. Javeed TSO Kangan along with the Dr. Javeed (VAS) today Conducted extensive Market Checking of main market Kangan especially Butcher’s/Chicken dealers & Green Grocers to check the mutton quality, their sanitation & hygiene & also the Govt. approved rates under FSS Act-2006. Also an amount of Rs. 700/= recovered as fine under EC Act. from erring traders. Moreover, Butchers /Chicken sellers were directed to maintain hygiene/Sanitation & Provide quality of meat to the Consumers mandated as per the Food Safety & Standards Act-2006.
