As the 64 hr long covid lockdown started from Friday afternoon, on Saturday life was completely out of gear in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley as the people have been cooperating with these restrictions imposed by the government.
On Saturday all the shops and business establishments were closed in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir while the lockdown completely crippled the daily life on the streets of the city , especially in the business hubs of Polo View, Regal Chowk and Lal Chowk.
Public transport was also off the roads while some private vehicles were seen on the roads along with few auto rickshaws. Despite the weekend lockdown, the Omicron variant covid-19 cases are only on rise while as the traders have said that lockdown is not the answer to the spread of the infection and have appealed the government to lift such restrictions as have been lifted at various places so that the normal business is conducted.
These are some of the pictures taken by our photographers on Saturday.
