People from different localities from Srinagar have claimed that amid the severe winter and rains they were getting disruptive power supply and have appealed to the authorities to streamline the supply.

Similarly many residents have said that there is very low voltage being supplied in their areas which has added to their problems as they could not utilize the power supply properly.

Meanwhile the residents of Alamdar Colony Rawalpora area of Srinagar are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD). They allege that erratic power supply and low voltage have made their life miserable.

They have told the media that the problem is in both metered and non-metered areas and the department makes no distinction between the two.

“Every winter we suffer despite paying fatty bills to PDD. Pesky power cuts and low voltage are the continuous sources of irritation,” they told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

“We have been raising the issue with the officials, but they blame people for illegal hooking. If there is illegal power pilferage, then it is the responsibility of the PDD to initiate action against violators, why make everyone suffer,” they said and sought the intervention of higherups.
