Though the Omicron variant is spreading in Jammu and Kashmir in a big way the authorities have cautioned the people to adhere to the sops and not to violate them for their own good so that the government is not forced to go for any lockdown.

Understanding the need to put some curbs in place the government has appealed to the people that they should themselves adhere to the norms so that there is no dangerous spread of the infection to such levels that they are forced to go for the lockdown.

In Jammu region the spread of Omicron variant has brought fresh scare among the common people but the authorities have assured them after some review meetings in the recent past that they are prepared for the possible hospitalization of the patients along with vaccinations.

In this direction Director Health Services Jammu said that J&K has received extraordinary support from the Union Government in its fight against the Covid and is well prepared to deal with an eventuality.

He attributed the achievement of record number of vaccinations to close monitoring from the highest level of UT administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The regular review and intervention by the Lieutenant Governor, the Chief Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary has put J&K in the best shape, he said.

Putting in simpler words, he explained that the reason behind the readied stance of J&K is due to the surplus availability of beds and oxygen plants.
