Post Snowfall: DC B’la briefs about status of essential services in District

BARAMULLA, JANUARY 8: In view of a recent heavy Snowfall in the District, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today briefed regarding snow clearance in  the district, restoration of power and water supply besides other essential services in the Baramulla.

While informing  regarding snow clearance in the district, the DC said that National Highways are fully restored for smooth plying of vehicles, while  more than 80 snow clearing machines are working  on all the major and minor internal link roads across the district. He added that all roads will be made operational for hassle free movement of the people, very soon.

Regarding restoration of power supply across towns and villages, the DC informed that maximum damaged HT and LT lines are restored and rest of the damaged lines are being restored.

He also said that among 49 receiving stations, 39 power receiving stations have been made operational.

Moreover, the DC informed that the district has a buffer stock of transformers to replace damaged ones by ensuring restoration of power supply in any affected area.

While briefing about water supply in the district, the DC said that the supply has been restored fully at maximum places, and the work for restoration of water supply is also going on in upper reaches of the district.
