Ganderbal

Wildlife Department officials on Friday captured four black bears in Yarmukam and Gutlibagh villages of Ganderbal and finally after the capture they were taken into the Dachigam National Park and released.

The capture and the release of four black bears in Ganderbal District has shown that wild animals are roaming freely in the villages close to forests and it needs a lot of attention of wildlife officials to save the conflict between the humans and wild animals.

According to the wildlife officials they were able to release them in the upper reaches of Dachigam so that they roam freely and live their lives.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that Wildlife Authorities received information that wild bears were roaming openly in Yarmukam and Gutlibagh villages of Ganderbal.

After receiving the information a team of Wildlife reached in these areas and were successful in capturing at least 4 bears alive.

He said locals also assisted wildlife teams in capturing them. “All these wild bears were shifted to Dachigam National Park, Srinagar,” he added.
