PMDP projects
Road connectivity is very important for the growth of a place and there are many road projects under completion in Jammu and Kashmir.
In this connection, the Chief Secretary reviewed PMDP projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged completion of road projects within timelines so that road connectivity becomes a reality for the common people living in those areas.
During the review meeting he advised NHIA to reduce waiting time on toll plazas on highways, so that the vehicles had not to wait on the roads for the clearance.
He emphasized linkage of existing roads in and around Bani-Basohli-Sarthal with national highways within and outside J&K for development of the Bani- Basohli tourism circuit.
Recently the government has said that the Semi Ring Road Jammu project is going on smoothly and the Mining department has resolved the issues regarding the accord of STPs to the executing agency.
NHAI needs another STP, the issue of imposition of penalty on the contractor for use of minor minerals illegally is under consideration of the committee constituted by the Mining department and is expected to be resolved shortly.
He directed the Mining department to provide the requisite STP to NHAI and address the issue of imposition of penalty on contractors within a week.
