Former Union Minister Saifuddin Soz on Wednesday said abrogation of article 370 of the constitution never brought transparency and accountability in Jammu and Kashmir rather it has created a permanent disquiet in the minds of people.

Soz termed the recent assertion of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman that abrogation of Article 370 brought transparency and accountability In Jammu and Kashmir as a “false statement”.

“I wish she had given just one example to prove her claim”, Soz said in a statement here.

He said, “India’s Finance Minister Ms. Sitharaman, during her visit to Kashmir made a potentially false statement”. This is an example of how Prime Minister Modi and his colleagues make false statements without caring for facts.

Sitharaman during her recent visit to Union Territory had asserted that abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India brought transparency and accountability in Jammu and Kashmir

Soz said, “ Sitharaman should have imagined that the people of Kashmir know better how abrogation of Article 370 has created a permanent disquiet in their minds”.

It is this Article that was devised to confirm the bond between the people of the State and the Government of India, the former Union Minister added.

“Now, the Modi Government has abrogated this Article all by itself, undemocratically and unconstitutionally!

The people of J&K State are deadly against this unconstitutional abrogation of Article 370. Hence disquiet and disturbance in their minds!”, he claimed.

The people of J&K will continue their struggle for restoration of their internal autonomy, most resolutely and democratically, Soz added.
