Former Chief Minister and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti has said that there is huge corruption going on under the central rule in Jammu and Kashmir and the silence of the government on the crucial issues is dangerous for the future.

In a press conference on Monday she claimed that civilian killings in the recent past, especially those of non locals are a clear failure of administration and there should be accountability in the system.

Mehbooba has claimed that there is a lot of corruption going on in the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the silence of the central government on such issues will have its impact in future.

Talking to media persons, Mehbooba as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the ventilators bought through PM care fund are lying defunct not only in Srinagar, but in Gujarat as well. “The huge has been transferred to PM care fund and nobody is answerable to the people. However, the defunct ventilators bought through PM Care fund is a clear indication that it is a biggest scam,” she said.

She added that there are tall claims about corruption free government, but during the present times, the corruption is at its peak and is going on in a sophisticated manner.

Mehbooba also said that the statements being made by the BJP are not based on the facts. “These are just words and nothing beyond. BJP statements don’t carry any weight,” she added.

She added that the people in Jammu and Kashmir have been muzzled and considering forceful silence here as peace is not good.

PDP president also said that the additional forces being called in to Jammu and Kashmir is a clear indication that the situation is not good, adding that the recent civilian killings in Kashmir is total failure of the administration, who despite having the information failed to prevent such incidents.
