According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mehbooba was scheduled to visit slain Shahid Ahmad’s residence today, who was killed in ‘cross firing’ in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Mehbooba while talking to KNO said that she was not allowed to meet the family of slain youth in Anantnag.
She said that when anyone is being killed by the militants, they are being allowed to meet the slain family, “but it is unfortunate that whenever anyone is being killed in forces action, no one is being allowed to meet the bereaved family”.
“So far, no compensation has been given to the bereaved family. The government should take steps to provide compensation to the family of Shahid and his NoK’s must be given the job as well,” she said.
