Police arrests 4 drug peddlers recovered contraband in Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband from their possession.
A police spokesman said, continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, a police team during routine checking at Wahabsahab Khrew in south Kashmir intercepted a vehicle.
During the search police recovered 11 kgs of contraband, 5 kgs poppy straw and 6 kg cannabis from the vehicle in which the four accused were boarding, police said.
They have been identified as Sahil Ahmed Jogi, Mohd Iqbal Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh and Ajaz Ahmed Sheikh were arrested and shifted to police station . The Vehicle in which they were travelling has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khrew and further investigations are in progress. Police added.
