Twenty three mini sheep farms set up in Ganderbal

To revive the livestock economy in the district, twenty three new mini sheep rearing units have been set up in the District Ganderbal and one ram under Tribal Sub plan by  Sheep Husbandry Department .Joint Director Extension in the Sheep Husbandry Department of Kashmir, Dr Ajay Sudan,  distributed the livestock among nine beneficiaries of the district. He said the government plans to distribute more sheep among families with a 50 percent subsidy under TSP. He said that requisite steps are underway to tap the potential of sheep breeding in the district and special focus is being given on generating awareness among youth to motivate them to adopt it as an economic activity.
