Burglars strike at a Pulwama orchard, decamp with over 250 apple boxes

In a surprise development for the orchardists, burglars during the dead of night have decamped with over 250 apple boxes from the Muran orchard in Pulwama district.

According to the police, burglars had stolen these apple boxes during the intervening Sunday-Monday and the investigation into this unique theft case has been started.

Reports reaching a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) said that the boxes had been stored in a shed owned by a local grower Irshad Ahmad Shah son of Sayed Saif ud Din Shah. The estimated market value of the stolen apple stock is said to be around three lacs.

Confirming the incident a police official told GNS that a team is on spot even as a case has been taken up in this regard.
