Mehbooba Mufti has claimed on Wednesday that police and authorities locked her Gupkar residence main gate and did not allow her to come out as she was scheduled to visit some Tral villages after she received complaints from said villagers.
She claimed that in the morning police locked the main gate of her residence from outside as she was going to visit Seer area of Tral payeen village in Pulwama district.
Talking to media according to KNO one of the PDP leaders said that Mehbooba was scheduled to visit the Seer area of Tral payeen but district administration did not allow her and policemen from police station Ram Munshibagh locked the main gate of her residence and placed a banker on the main gate.
Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the PDP chief said: “ Well I wanted to visit Seer, Tral where people allege that forces are creating havoc, ransacking homes, beating villagers mercilessly. But I have not been allowed to go there, so it seems the government has a lot to hide so they have put me under house arrest.”
However, a police officer told KNO that Mehbooba has been requested to avoid visiting Tral due to security reasons by SP Awantipora and DIG South Kashmir.
