Srinagar: Former Indian cricketer, Yusuf Pathan on Monday said that there is a lot of talent in Jammu and Kashmir and youth must use their skills to make their country proud.

“There is no doubt that youth in J&K are very talented and engaging them in sport activities is a great initiative. It will provide a platform to the talented youth to make their spot at mega stages,” he said.

On the lack of the infrastructure in J&K, Pathan said that the need of the hour is to engage youth in sports activities and once youth will participate, “authorities will come to know how to improve the infrastructure.”

“Our message to the youth of J&K will be to come forward and motivate more youth to take part in sports activities. Taking part in sports will not only keep you fit but you will also learn discipline,” Pathan said.

Pathan said that once more people will get involved in sports activities, more infrastructure will be developed so that international or IPL matches can be played in the valley.

He said that engaging women in sports activities is a great initiative of the army and it will encourage youth and will definitely bear fruits.

Players on the occasion were also delighted and were hopeful that such sports events will make their way easier to play at national level—(KNO)
